Nepal House Girls School Supports the community
Why?
We believe that by empowering our community, we create a stronger, brighter future for our girls.

After the devastating 2015 Nepal earthquake, we led relief projects and began building homes for families who had lost everything. We provided housing for more than 100 people and safely airlifted supplies to feed and support these families.

Once we heard about the support needed for the mothers of our students, Saika began developing a sustainable way to invest in the community. Initial capital is provided to each mother as she begins the micro-financing internship. Upon completion, she is paired with marketplace partners where demand is secured. Once she has repaid the initial investment, she nominates another mother to enter the program, continuing the cycle of empowerment.

In 2018, we began connecting with incarcerated youth through grassroots efforts, exploring ways to support these children. With the first few children we worked with, we saw the tremendous impact that genuine care and guidance could make. In 2020, we have formalized our efforts to support incarcerated youth, reaching more than 1,000 juveniles each year led by licensed therapists. Our licensed therapists provide one-on-one rehabilitation sessions to help youth heal and prepare for healthy reintegration. Many of these juveniles have never been given the chance to work through their trauma or fully understand the circumstances that led to their incarceration.
